Coming up on Sunday, August 5th
[image: 2007 Worcester Slam Team] Please join us this week at the Poets'
Asylum for the *Team Send-off*. Monday morning the members of the 2007
Worcester Slam team will head to Austin, TX for the National Poetry Slam.
Come listen as Trevor Byrne-Smith, Gary Hoare, Erin Jackson and MC Spiel
show us once more why they'll be representing Worcester this year.
The reading meets at the Java Hut (1073A Main Street, Worcester). Open mic
sign-up at 6:30 p.m. with the reading starting somewhere thereafter. The
feature follows the open mic. It's sure to be a grand ole time so plan on
coming early and staying late. You won't be sorry.

July 29th Revisited
Many thanks to the *2007 Cantab Slam Team* for coming out to Worcester and
sharing their art, energy and powerful words. Simone Beaubien, Shira
Erlichman, Brian S. Ellis, and Jme clicked with the audience immediately.
Their poetry and performance show them to be amazing artists who won cheers,
applause and chapbook sales from the Asylum audience. Good luck to all of
you in Austin.

Poets' Asylum T-Shirt
[image: 2007 T-shirt art] As part of our fundraising efforts for the year
the Poets' Asylum is selling high-quality t-shirts with custom art by MC
Spiel. In addition to light blue we now have a bright orange shirt available
with the same logo. The shirts are available at the Sunday night reading for
$10 each.
Visit poetsasylum.org for a larger image of the t-shirt art. Please see Bob
Gill if you are interested in purchasing one of these fine shirts. We thank
you for your continued support.

July 22nd Revisited
The open mic was happening last night with some new voices reading for the
first time, a couple of missing for too long poets returning to visit and
Ms. Hailey Jones bidding us farewell before she heads off to the midwest for
school. Our feature, Maze Forever, ran into mad traffic and had to cancel.
He's appearing at the Cantab on Wednesday and in Providence on Thursday if
you want to catch him.
