Welcome to the final Asylum newsletter of 2007. Hope to see you at some of
the great poetry events taking place as the year draws to a close.
------------------------------
Coming up on Sunday, December 30th
Help us close out 2007 and break-in our new venue this Sunday with a feature
by *Chris Fortin*. Fortin is a poet, musician, deejay, painter, francophile
and street artist who's never been caught. (shhhhhh...!) Born in Worcester
in 1976, he first started attending the Poets' Asylum around age seventeen,
at Eleni's Midnight Cafe'. He's got a new, very limited edition chapbook
called "HOTEL." and he needs a hug.
Join us at The Q Cafe <http://theqma.com/> (362 Chandler Street,
Worcester). The open mic sign-up list goes out around 7:00
p.m. and the reading starts closer to 7:30 p.m. No cover; please throw some
money in the bucket to support the feature. Come be a part of the next
chapter of Poets' Asylum.

December 23rd Revisited
What a night!!! The Java Hut was packed to overflowing with friends old and
new. The poets were ready, the stage was set, the coffee was served to the
very last drop. It was a great last night at the Hut. I do believe we sent
her on her way in style.
After a handful of poets to open up the room we held the *Winter Semi-final
Slam*. After two rounds the scores were tallied. Congratulations to Adam
Stone, Bobby Gibbs, Trevor Byrne-Smith and Ryk McIntyre for taking the top 4
spots tonight. They move on to the team finals in May 2008. Thanks to Dave
Keali'i, Cyndi Keely, Sam Teitel & Nick Davis for their fine poetry. Thanks
too to the judges and audience for making this a night to remember.
