[image: Corrina Bain] Please join us this week for the amazing *Corrina Bain
*. Corrina Bain began performing her poetry when she was 14. She has opened
for spoken word legends as diverse as Jim Carroll and Patricia Smith, and is
credited in the lyrics of the Sage Francis album "A Healthy Distrust". She
is the author of a book entitled *Ugly Poems For Ugly People*, and has an
album in collaboration with Tom Inhaler called "Distilled". She has been a
member of 4 national poetry slam teams, most recently representing
Providence, RI. She is currently working on a stage show about Medusa, BDSM
and the defilement of the sexual object. She lives in Boston.

Come on down to the Java Hut (1073A Main Street, Worcester). The open mic
sign-up list goes out around 7:00 p.m. and the reading starts closer to 7:30
p.m. No cover; please throw some money in the bucket to support the feature.

September 30th Revisited

If you missed the Asylum this week you missed the amazingly funny *Kyria
Abrahams*. She read excerpts from her upcoming book "I'm Perfect, You're
Doomed", a comedic memoir involving Jehovah's Witnesses, slam poetry, OCD
and the fiery destruction of the wicked at Armageddon. With a fine wit she
offered the audience a glimpse of her childhood, from the joys of public
speaking at 8 to laughtastic tale of carnal bean bagging. Yes friends this
was a great feature. Thanks Kyria for the words and laughter.
