Pact. Shakti was created with the intention of enhancing women's sense of

circle.

Coming up on Sunday, September 30th

The Poets' Asylum is pleased to welcome former Asylum regular *Kyria
Abrahams* tonight as our feature. Kyria Abrahams is currently putting the
finishing touches on her book "I'm Perfect, You're Doomed", a comedic memoir
involving Jehovah's Witnesses, slam poetry, OCD and the fiery destruction of
the wicked at Armageddon. It will be published by Touchstone-Fireside in
2008. For two years, Kyria was a regular columnist for Jest Magazine where
she wrote rambling, otherwise unpublishable essays about eskimos.

Join us at the Java Hut (1073A Main Street, Worcester). The open mic sign-up
list goes out around 7:00 p.m. and the reading starts closer to 7:30 p.m. No
cover; please throw some money in the bucket to support the feature.

September 23rd Revisited

Lots of new faces in the audience this week which is always nice to see. A
couple of new voices took the stage - that's awesome as well. Our feature
this week was *Ansel Appleton*. He offered a single piece, a story of
success, relationships, let down, change and the need to move on. Thank you
Ansel for sharing your words with us.

Winter Craft Bizarre and Art Sale

Save the date: Sunday, December 2nd we will run a crafts fair to benefit the
Poets' Asylum. Area crafters are invited to rent a table, display their
crafts and sell to their hearts content. We will not be taking a commission,
so your profits remain your own. The event is being held at the Java Hut
(1073A Main Street, Worcester) and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Also during the month of December the Java Hut has agreed to allow the
Poets' Asylum to run a month long *Art Sale*. Instead of a single artists
work appearing on the walls the Asylum is collecting donated art work from a
variety of artists. During December you'll be able to browse the collection
at the Java Hut, purchase a piece of art and take it home with you.
