The new venue, Jumpin' Juice and Java, was ready for us and we pretty well took over the place. There were a lot of new faces in the audience as well, we hope you'll join us again. Molly Meacham's feature mixed her own work with a handful of covers. She shared poetry about her family, her students and how women connect to their bodies. It was a great first feature at our new home. Thanks for the words Molly! ------------------------------ 2008 Poets' Asylum T-shirt [image: 2008 shirt front] The 2008 Poets' Asylum T-shirt premiered at the Team Send-off Feature on July 31st. Jen Mahon is a poet, karateka, ceramist, yogini, nurse, artist, healer, and former somnambulist. After writing some atrocious poetry in Philly, she moved to Massachusetts and learned to write better poetry under the tutelage of professors and nationally renown slam poets. In 2005, she trekked to Austin with nothing more than her car and her cats. One year ago, she moved back to Massachusetts to fulfill her dream of becoming a veterinarian, and started school last week. Since the Poets' Asylum is where she got her start in performance poetry seven years ago, she is thrilled to be the feature here tonight. Come on down to Jumpin' Juice and Java(335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The reading starts at *6:00 p.m.*. No cover; please throw some money in the bucket to support the feature. ------------------------------ August 24th Revisited Our second week in a new space and another amazing feature. This week *Eric Urban* brought an action packed, multi-media performance and thrilled the gathered audience to a standing ovation. The *Alphonso Rigatoni Show part II - Quest for Mars* represents the sort of high energy for which Urban is known for. At times loud, almost always unexpected, filled with great laughs, pratfalls and snacks, this was a feature that won't soon be forgotten. Thanks for the words & creativity Urban! ------------------------------ The Poets' Asylum is in its fifteenth year of bringing the best in Performance and Slam Poetry to Central Massachusetts and beyond.
