Greetings from the Poets' Asylum. Hope to see you over the weekend.

Carrie Rudzinski @ The Ship Tonight
This week *The Spot*, the weekly Thursday night poetry reading at the Hotel
Vernon (1 Kelly Square, Worcester), will hold an open mic and a
feature by *Carrie
Rudzinski*. The reading starts at 8:00 p.m. with an open mic run. No cover;
bring a few bucks to throw in the captain's hat and to buy a $1 draft. 21+

Coming up on Sunday, August 31st
Join the Poets' Asylum this week for our regular open mic and a feature by *Jen
Mahon*. Jen Mahon is a poet, karateka, ceramist, yogini, nurse, artist,
healer, and former somnambulist. After writing some atrocious poetry in
Philly, she moved to Massachusetts and learned to write better poetry under
the tutelage of professors and nationally renown slam poets. In 2005, she
trekked to Austin with nothing more than her car and her cats. One year ago,
she moved back to Massachusetts to fulfill her dream of becoming a
veterinarian, and started school last week. Since the Poets' Asylum is where
she got her start in performance poetry seven years ago, she is thrilled to
be the feature here tonight.
Come on down to Jumpin' Juice and
Java<http://www.poetsasylum.org/venue-info.html>(335 Chandler Street,
Worcester). The reading starts at
*6:00 p.m.*. No cover; please throw some money in the bucket to support the
feature.

August 24th Revisited
Our second week in a new space and another amazing feature. This week *Eric
Urban* brought an action packed, multi-media performance and thrilled the
gathered audience to a standing ovation. The *Alphonso Rigatoni Show part II
- Quest for Mars* represents the sort of high energy for which Urban is
known for. At times loud, almost always unexpected, filled with great
laughs, pratfalls and snacks, this was a feature that won't soon be
forgotten. Thanks for the words & creativity Urban!
