Coming up on Sunday, June 8th [image: Jane Cassady] This Sunday the Poets'

assistant and dog owner.

Come check out their poetry at The Q Cafe <http://theqma.com/> (362 Chandler

the reading starts closer to 7:30 p.m. No cover; please throw some money in

June 1st Revisited

*Simone Beaubien* was the feature at the Poets' Asylum this week. She
brought the great poetry and a fabulous, infectious energy that helps
explain why she is so well respected in poetry circles. She mixed up mostly
newer work with a couple of older pieces. It was fun stuff. Thanks for the
words Simone.

Fundraising News

As part of our fundraising efforts for this year the Poets' Asylum will hold
*Yard Sale, Auction and Art Sale*. The yard sale will be held on Saturday,
June 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. outside The Q Cafe (362 Chandler
Steet, Worcester, MA). Expect a wide variety of stuff such as books, DVDs,
stuffed animals, small appliances and more. Come browse the goods and maybe
you'll find a gem you can't live without.

The following night, Sunday, June 16th, we'll hold the *Annual Asylum
Auction* as part of the weekly reading at The Q. We'll have an extended open
mic with a bit of auction action thrown in for fun. This is our big event to
raise the money needed to get the Slam team to Nationals. Nationals are in
Madison, WI and our expenses include registrations, airfare, and lodging for
the team and coach. All told we expect to need over $3000 this year.

Finally we will hold an *Art Sale* all month long at The Q Cafe. We have art
work contributed by many friends of the Asylum that we adorn the walls of
the The Q during the month of June. All the pieces will be priced to move so
stop by and pick up something pretty to hang on your wall.

We are seeking donations of good condition items for both the yard sale and
auction. Items for donation and such can be brought to the regular Sunday
night reading on June 8th at The Q Cafe. Or drop an e-mail to host @
poetsasylum.org <host at poetssylum.org> to reach Dave, Liz or Cyndi.
