Greetings from the Poets' Asylum. Spring arrives this week and with it a
hope for better weather. Come join us, rain or shine, for some great poetry
every week.

Ballard Street Poetry Journal Winter '08 Release
Thursday, March 20th
Please join Ballard Street Poetry
Journal<http://www.ballardstreetpoetryjournal.com/>for the release of
their Winter 2008 issue on Thursday, March 20th. The
release will take place at 1 Ekman Street, Worcester and starts at 7 p.m.
The open mic including poets from their latest effort, followed by our
feature, Gary Hoare. Free and open to the public, refreshments served.
------------------------------
Coming up on Sunday, March 23th
This week at the Poets' Asylum touring poet *Brandon Stepien* will be our
feature. Brandon is a member of two Denver youth slam teams that competed at
the National Youth Poetry Slam. In 2007 his team competed on the semi-finals
stage. He has released two books and a CD of his work.
Please join us at The Q Cafe <http://theqma.com/> (362 Chandler Street,
Worcester). The open mic sign-up list goes out around 7:00 p.m. and the
reading starts closer to 7:30 p.m. No cover; please throw some money in the
bucket to support the feature.
------------------------------
March 16th Revisited
Sunday night our very own *Erin Jackson* took the stage. She performed a
wonderful mix of older and newer pieces that got the crowd laughing and
contemplating. Erin reminded us why she is one of our best.
------------------------------
24 hour Poetry Feature
*Bill MacMillan* will undertake a 24-hour poetry feature starting Saturday,
April 5th at 8:00 p.m. Bill will read poetry, his own work and covers, over
the following 24 hours, wrapping up as the weekly Asylum open reading gets
underway. The Q Cafe <http://theqma.com/> has generously agreed to stay open
all night long so that Bill may undertake this endeavour.
Bill is taking part in a coordinated national
movement<http://www.wideopenwest.com/%7Eefavers0976/24n_front.htm>to
have 24-hour readings across the country happening at the same time.
The
Poets' Asylum will be using this as a fundraising opportunity. Visit our
Fundraising <http://poetsasylum.org/fundlink.html> page to make a donation.
Make plans to come down for an hour or two and keep Bill company as he makes
his way through 24 hours of poetry.
------------------------------
The Poets' Asylum is in its fifteenth year of bringing the best in
