She involved the audience with the music and had everyone in hysterics with a story concerning a dildo. She also offered a fine cover of Ani DiFranco and reminded everyone how good it is to enjoy themselves at a performance. Thank you, Amy! ------------------------------ The Poets' Asylum is in its seventeenth year of bringing the best in Performance and Slam Poetry to Central Massachusetts and beyond. With a mix of well practiced work and newer pieces he worked the mic and carried the audience with him. Moving from heavier material to lighter fare and back with ease he kept those who gathered to hear him waiting for the next sentence, the next phrase. His tales of teaching English in Mexico were especially captivating. Thanks Logan! ------------------------------ "The Weekend Starts Now" "The Weekend Starts Now" is an e-mail newsletter focusing on arts and entertainment events in the Worcester-area. Created by the Telegramit will highlight a handful of events, mostly things that are great but might not otherwise get a great deal of attention, and provide links to The Telegram's music, dining and film columns, as well as our calendar. Obviously, it's going to grow and change as time goes on, but Asylum regular (and TWSN editor) Victor Infante is pleased with it so far, and he really thinks this is a chance to bring a focus to arts and entertainment events that might otherwise slip through the cracks.
