Slam Circus - Friday, July 17th

[image: Slam Circus flyer] The 2009 Worcester Slam Team take the show on the
road in a *Slam Circus* on Friday, July 17th at PACE - the Pioneer Art
Center of Easthampton <http://www.pioneerarts.org/>. The team will put on a
stellar performance for (hopefully) a packed house. After the feature,
audience members will have a chance to compete with their own poems for
prizes and poetic glory.

The performance will be held at the PACE Theatre, 41 Union Street,
Easthampton, MA. $8 general admission. $7 for PACE members. The show will
start at 8:00 p.m. Please let your friends in western Mass. know about the
show. Maybe we'll see you there!

Coming up on Sunday, July 19th

[image: a mic] This Sunday the *Poets' Asylum* will host a
head-to-head *Regional
Slam*. It's a mystery who the 2009 Worcester Slam team will be pitted
against and mystery is good, right? :-) This will be a Nationals-style four
round slam with the usual time limits, judging, etc. It's like going to
Nationals without the security hassles at the airport and the high heat &
humidity. This is certain to be a fun night for performance poetry so come
on down.

Plus the 2009 Poets' Asylum *t-shirts* will be available for purchase. All
proceeds support the Worcester Slam team and their trip to the National
Poetry Slam <http://www.nps2009.com/> in Florida next month.

Join us at Jumpin' Juice and Java (335 Chandler Street, Worcester). The
reading starts at 6:00 p.m. No cover; please throw some money in the bucket
to support the reading and the slam team.

July 12th Revisited

Thanks to all those you came out to support the 2009 *Worcester Youth Slam
Team*. With a mix of dual voice and individual work Elyse Bianchet, Eddy
Habib, Carolyn Mshooshian, Kate Richardson, and Jeff Seigrist gave us a
taste of what they will be bringing to Chicago this week for the Brave New
Voices event. We're sure they will do the 5-0-8 proud.
